Carol Elizabeth West

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Collier Butler Chapel for

Mrs. Carol West, 87, who passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. Brother

Lauil Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow at Forrest Cemetery with Collier

Butler directing.

Mrs. West was a native of Gadsden and a member of 12th Street Baptist Church for

most of her life. She attended Gadsden City Schools and was a member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Nathan R. Thacker and James S. West Sr.,

parents Eula Lee and James Oscar Dooley, and eleven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann King (Bruce) and Denise Watford (Scott),

and her son, Phillip Reedy Thacker (Lissa); grandchildren Kelly Motes (Tim),

Kim Smith (Chris), Daniel Thacker, Stephanie Wullimann (David), and

Susan Egas (Garrett); great grandchildren Brittany Fisher, Christian, Joshua, and

Samuel Smith, Scotty Motes, Dylan, Jax, and Dakota Wullimann, Annie Bales,

and Owen Egas; great-great grandchild Madelyn Cofield; and numerous nieces

and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Thacker, Mike Bryant, Oscar Bryant, Chris Smith,

David Wullimann, and Garrett Egas.

A special thanks to doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Northside Healthcare and

Alacare Hospice.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Collier Butler Funeral Home.
