Bobby was born in Alabama City, AL on May 29, 1937, he is survived by his wife Ann Sims of over 50 years, his son Kevin Sims of Dallas TX and his grandson Alexander Sims of Winston Salem NC.
He was a 1955 graduate of Glencoe High School where he played football for the legendary coach Baldy Wilson.
He retired from Bellsouth (ATT today) after 37 years of service and after 10 years of working for District Attorney Jimmy Hayes.
Bobby was a member of Tide Pride and the University of Alabama Ivory Club. He was also the past president of the NE Alabama Chapter of the Red Elephant Club. He is also a past president of the Gadsden Jaycees and a J.C.I. Senator.
Bobby also served in the US Army with the 101st Airborne paratrooper division during the Cuban missile crisis as well as the Honor Guard and Radio Operator.
The family will receive friends at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Friday, March 1, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be no formal service.
