Graveside services for Bobby Joe Jenkins Sr. age 88 of Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Rev. Larry Ballard will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jenkins was the owner of several San-Ann Stations, (later Jet-Pep and Kerr McGee). After retirement he was a greeter at Wal-Mart for 15 years where adults and children alike loved seeing him at the doors. He always had smiley stickers to hand out when he was out.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd D. and Ella Sue Jenkins; daughter, Cynthia Allison Jenkins; wife, Vivian Jo Whitworth Jenkins; and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his son, Bobby Joe Jenkins, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
He was a beloved husband, and father and will be sorely missed.
The family will accept friends at the funeral home from 11:30am-1:30pm Thursday prior to the service.
