He was a Husband, Father, grandfather and friend. He was an amateur radio enthusiast, enjoyed long walks with his dog Scooter, and spending time working on the cabin he built by the creek. He will be remembered for his never-ending conversations, his strong political views, and for serving his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Lois McLain; his sisters, Elleweese, Jacqueline, and Gail. He was joined in death by his wife of nearly 59 years, Sandra McLain.
He is survived by his sons, Tim McLain (Pam), Steve (Anita), Edward “Eddie” and Greg; grandchildren, Andrea (Brandon) Powell, Blake McLain, Stephanie (Warren) Houston, Tyler (Payton) McLain, Brennen (Taylor) McLain, Morgan “Caley” McLain, Joshua Pope, Jordan Pope, and Jesse McLain; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no public services.
