Betty Joyce Letner, 89, of Gadsden passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Garrard, Rev. Philip Elliott and Rev. Lance Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Attalla, AL.
Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Ms. Letner was retired from Bellsouth, Inc. with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Belle Letner and siblings Vera Johnson, Helen Gowens, Juanita Brown, Shirley Letner, Polly Letner, James Letner, Sarah Letner, and Betsy Letner.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Sam Entrekin; Beverly Gunnells; Dorisse Gowens; Eddie Gowens; Barry Brown, Glenda Roberts, and Wanda Dobbs with numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Entrekin; Brian Gunnells; Billy Paul Roberts; Barry Brown; Jaylen Timmons, Eddie Gowens, Matt Brown, and Lance Brown.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and Jonah Thompson.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
