Barbara Couch

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Couch, age 74 of Gadsden, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Tony Smith will be officiating with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing. Mrs.. Couch passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at her home. Barbara was a life-long resident of Gadsden and a life-long member of North Gadsden Church of God, where she served as pianist and organist for most of her life. She loved her family and her church with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walden and Margaret Scott. Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerald Couch; children, Ginger Johnson (Roger), Belinda Crate, and Bryan Couch (Beth); grandchildren, Matthew Johnson (Julie), Hannah Couch, Jonathan Couch, David Crate and Joshua Crate; great-grandchildren, Darcie Johnson and Frasier Johnson; brothers, Ronnie Scott (June) and Steve Scott (Beckie); sister, Nancy Kelley (Jack); and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matthew Johnson, Rex Barron, Jonathan Couch, David Putman, Joshua Crate and David Crate. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Courtney Love and Alacare Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Gadsden Church of God.
