Alexander "Alex" Gregory Cook

Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 09, 2022 at 2:00pm

at Collier-Butler Chapel. Pastor Mike Cleckler and Jonathan Wilburn will officiate.

Burial will follow at Sheppard Cemetery (Cherokee County Road 301).

Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Alex was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but had resided in Gadsden, Alabama for most of his life.

He was a 2009 graduate of Gaston High School. He was co-owner of Tolbert & Cook Excavating.

Alex was a simple man and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, motorcycles, and 4-wheel drive trucks. One of his favorite past-times was grilling and smoking meat while hanging out with family and friends at his home.

He enjoyed sitting around a fire while “pickin” his guitar and singing.

Most importantly, Alex loved spending time with his precious daughter, which he lovingly referred to as his “Sweet Caroline.”

Alex is preceded in death by his dad, Gregory Cook;

grandparents, Vernon and Marian Cook, and Ersie and Alene Huffstutler;

uncles, Randall Cook, Gordon Cook, Odis Huffstutler, Joe Banes, and his Aunt Patricia Cook.

Alex is survived by his daughter, Caroline Paige Cook; Mother, Tanya and step-father Jerry Huffstutler; sisters Rachel (Nolan) Decker and Pam (Tim) Barron; brother, Jerry Huffstutler; grandparents, Don and Elaine Reynolds; nephew, Dalton Barron; nieces, Lexie and Kylie Barron; Caroline’s mother, Skyler McGee; Skyler’s daughter Harper Knowles; aunts, Pam (and Craig) Kulpa, Terri (and Gary) Murray, Yvonne Banes, Marie (and Gene) Earwood, Kathy (and Bud) Jones and Sharon Huffstutler; uncles, Larry (and Phyllis) Huffstutler, Randy (and Joy) Huffstutler, several cousins and his side kicks, Jake and Lady Mae.

Pallbearers will be John Money, Jason Harmony, Taylor Mitchell, Jamie Watts, Billy Tolbert, Dustin Stewart, Bradley Helms and Jace Jennings.

Honorary Pallbearers will be extended family and friends.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Gadsden Fire Department, A-Med Ambulance Services, the doctors and staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Jonathan Wilburn,

Jill Watts Bouldin, Pastor Mike Cleckler, and church family at Cathedral of Praise.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, January 08, 2022 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm

at the funeral home.
