Dorothy was born on November 2, 1925, in Fulton, MO, the daughter of Otto and Ollie (Walton) Maddox, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on July 16, 1948, in Fulton, MO, to Willard Marcell Russell, who preceded her in death in 2004. Dorothy worked for a few years at Ovid Bell Press before becoming a full-time mother and housewife. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, embroidering and taking car rides in the country to see the fall colors. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: two sons, Dennis Russell (Sherilyn) of Fulton, MO, and Michael Russell of Fulton, MO; four daughters, Deborah Russell of Jefferson City, MO, Sherry Fornoff (Blaze) of Fulton, MO, Pamela Karem (Brian) of Woodland Hills, CA and Robin Aguilar (Dave) of Columbia, MO; 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Holly, Gentry, Kali, Zachary, Kierstyn, Brennan, Shelby, Wyatt, Jarod, Elizabeth and Jake; 15 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Taran, Connor, Isaac, Maya, Milan, Raegan, Nora, Jax, Hadley, Sleven, Sawyer, Valdis, Faedra and Murphy as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Maddox, and three sisters, Sylvia Maddox, Ruth Burgan and Eunice Kyger.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, MO. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Hams Prairie Cemetery, Fulton, MO.
