Zachary (Zach) Matthew Seitz died in his sleep Tuesday, January 26th. At 26, he was at the top of his game and thrilled at the future in front of him. He’d found the woman, Ally Cannon, he planned to marry (and not so secretly had just bought a ring which he planned to present to her during an upcoming month long stay in Tulum Mexico), had a job he was excited about at ZOOM, was living in Denver and traveling the world, and made plenty of time to play hard with his family and friends riding motocross, mountain biking, snowboarding, and daring himself and those around him to “try this.” He always has a soft spot for pets; he and Ally had two lively cats, Nugget and Tomac at the time he died and had many other pets while he was growing up, including “his” dog Bailey. Of course, he took it upon himself to make sure his dad and mom had company by gifting them a new cat on a fairly regular basis.
Zach didn’t just embrace life, he grabbed it with both hands and rode it. His enthusiasm, smile, laughter, and inclusive nature were infectious; family and friends around him couldn’t help but ride along with him. He was the life of the party, a crazy and spirited breath of fresh air to everyone around him.
Zach was born on Dec. 16, 1994 to Corey and Melanie Seitz. He loved his family, was always quick to credit both parents with teaching him and his brother Jake the value of hard work, the importance of having fun, the worth of breaking convention and making every day a bit of an adventure. Corey and Mel were more than parents to him, they were role models. Jake was more than a brother, he was a friend. Zach watched the way they lived, the friends they had, the joy the exuded and said he wanted that.
Zach will be sorely missed by his large family and many friends.
Zach attended Cache La Poudre Elementary School and Junior High School in Laporte, Colorado and graduated from Poudre High School, Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2013. He went on to attend University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating with a business degree in 2017 and loved his Buffs (“Sko Buffs”).
Zach is survived by his parents: Corey and Melanie “Mel” Seitz, brother: Jake Thomas Seitz, grandparents: Tony and Kay Seitz and Tim Underdahl, his intended spouse, girlfriend: Ally Cannon, aunts, uncles, several cousins, and his cats. Zach is preceded in death by his grandmothers: Kathleen Seitz and Janice Underdahl, uncle: Patrick Seitz, dog: Bailey, and cats: Mako and Roczen.
