William "Bill" Karl Eiman

Bill was born on September 2, 1930 in St. Joseph, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bertha and Louis Eiman, siblings; Louis Jr. and Donald Eiman, and Mrs. Arlene Kemp, and the mother of his children; Shirley L. (Kieser) Eiman.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Abbey) Eiman, his children Stephen (Barbara) Eiman, Susan (Tim) Stroh and Brenda (Todd) Wickstrom; his step-children Dr. Kris (Scott) Saucke, Dr. David (Suzanne) Abbey, Kathy (Dennis) Moddelmog, Jim Abbey and Dr. Nicholas (fiance Kate) Abbey all of Colorado, Eleven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law; Mrs. Joyce Hansen and Mrs. Suzanne Eiman of St. Joseph, MO, nephew Jan (Nita) Kieser of Phoeniz, AZ and Ms. Karen Keller of St. Joseph, MO.

Bill grew up on a dairy farm near St Joseph, MO. He and his siblings attended a one room school (Frogge school). Bill longed for a different life and was the first in his family to graduate from college. He graduated from Central HS in St. Joseph in 1948 and from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1952. Bill served in the US Air Force before starting a long career with Conoco Oil in Kansas City, MO and Ponca City, OK. He married Shirley Kieser in January of 1957 in St. Joseph, MO. They had three children together. In 1971 the family moved to Colorado where Bill worked for and retired from the State of Colorado after 22 years of service. Bill and Shirley enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. They loved the mountains and made many happy memories camping and traveling in the US and Canada. They spent several winters in AZ and FL before Shirley passed away in 1999.

Bill married Dorothy Abbey in January of 2002. They were active members of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins, CO. Bill and Dorothy enjoyed spending time with their family and serving together on several church committees. Their favorite was delivering cookies to new visitors. Together, they made many friends in the Samaritan Sunday School class. They took many trips, but especially loved their cruise to Alaska. They spent most winters as snowbirds in Sun City West, AZ.

Bill was a sweet, loving man who knew how to speak “Donald Duck” and was very proud of his family.

A private, family service is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 at 11:30am at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins.
