Donna , I was so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing.   I wish things were such that we see each other and visit .   I was widowed in 1993 and I would like to be able to share with you at this time about what you are going through.  You are in my heart and prayers.   Call me if you would like to visit.

Dear Donna,
I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family regarding the passing of your beloved husband, Reuel.  As a neighbor on Sheely Drive for many years, I was very fortunate to come to know both of you, and always appreciated the kindness and welcoming nature both of you always exhibited.  I was proud to know of Reuel’s military service and his career at Eastman Kodak, and we miss your wonderful holiday parties and the many delightful conversations I engaged in with Reuel over the years.  We will miss him, and we miss you as well.  I will let my daughter, Katie, and the rest of the Wells family know of Reuel’s passing.  God bless you and your family.

Reuel was my first cousin and he and his brother Fielding worked on our farm when they were teenagers. I agree with the others who mentioned his always present grin. One of my favorite memories of Reuel occurred during a family reunion at his fathers home. As his father was having the blessing for the meal Reuel, unaware of the proceedings on the lawn, stepped out on an upstairs balcony and proclaimed "Romeo, Romeo,  where forth art thou Romeo".  

We were saddened to hear of Reuel's passing and send our deepest condolences to Donna and the family.  

As a former roomie to "Ken," we shared fond memories--especially when we visited his home on Cadet leave.  After our return to USAFA, we laughed when we found that his mom had found our hidden "bottle" in the back of his old radio case. 

 We also shared many happy times with our  four-year sponsors (Colonel and Mrs. Whitmire) who "adopted" four of us from the 14th Squadron. 

Ken was a friend and classmate who always had an honest smile, a hearty laugh and a way to make you feel special.  He will be missed.

Reuel and Donna were neighbors when my wife and I arrived in Japan.  They were extremely generous teaching us the ins and outs of living off-base in Japan in the 1960s. Unfortunately the men were gone quite a bit to Korea in those days, so Reuel and Donna were especially helpful to my young wife and helped keep her sane. Reuel was truly an outstanding officer and a gentleman.  I regret I didn't get to spend more time with him after he served his time  in the Air Force.  My deepest condolences to Donna and her family.  He will be missed!

I went thru elementary and high school with Reuel. We nicknamed him “Ben” after his Dad. I have fond memories of Reuel, as we were classmates and teammates through  out high school. He and I were co captains of our football and basketball teams during ‘60-‘61 seasons. Reuel was fullback and I was QB. He was the best blocker leading sweeps that I ever saw. If I had a big gain, chances are Reuel was leading me thru the hole or around the corner.
Reuel was a quiet leader, on and off the field or court, and lead by example. I believe he was President of our Sr class and believe he had one of the top 3 grade point average in our class.
I lost contact with Reuel when he went to Air Force Academy, although there were a couple of class reunions in which he attended.
Judging by what I have learned about his life journeys, he didn’t changed, over the years, from what I previously knew in our teenage years - a man of intelligence, intregity, service to others, humble, just to name a small sample of qualities of the man that I can say was my friend, my teammate, our “Ben”. RIP, my friend and may God comfort Donna and family with His Love and Mercy.

My condolences to Donna and family for their loss. Reuel was my roommate one year at the Air Force Academy and a 14th squadron mate for four years. I have fond memories of him, his work ethic and his wry sense of humor. It was no surprise that he had such a successful life of service. He will be missed.

I first met Reuel when I joined Sertoma, a long, long, time ago.  He had an infectious smile that never stopped, and never ceased to make me laugh in one way or another.  I can safely say that he never said a cross word in my presence.
After reading his accomplishments, I can see how he seemed so intelligent; he was!  He didn't talk much about what he'd done, so I never new.  I just knew that he was one of those guys I liked being around, and would seek him out at lunch so I could learn something new, and laugh a bit.
I know he's sitting somewhere shining and bright right now, making someone laugh.  
He's not gone, because a person is never really gone if  they are remembered by others.

I met Reuel when he and Donna move back to the Fort.  I was so impressed with what a first class person he was. My office was also in the then Home Federal Savings tower.  I am so sorry to here of his passing

Donna and family,

We are very sorry about your loss and the greater loss to the community.

I specifically recall a time some years ago when Reuel and I were working with our Church's staff dealing with a stressful relationship and employment issue.  The leadership, insights,  sensitivity and loving concern Reuel brought to this effort were inspirational.  This was an opportunity for me to see a glimpse of the gifts and love Reuel brought to the community.

Reuel was one of the finest individuals we have known. He was a loyal and hard working church member and the brightest most positive person you can imagine. 

 Jane, Randy, Donna  and Reuel have contributed greatly to our family’s life over the last 37 years as Sheely neighbors.  

Our prayers are with the Ralston family upon the loss of Reuel. 

Donna, my heart goes out to you. I know it was a long and difficult journey and I hope that you can find comfort in good memories.  Sending much love, with thanks for being my friend at Centre.

I had the privilege of working with Reuel for many years at Eastman Kodak Company when he was a cost engineer and then as a manufacturing manager... He was smart, driven, passionate and he really cared about people...I am sincerely sorry for your loss but know he was a good man that had an amazing life...



It was a pleasure and honor to visit Reuel in my role as a volunteer with Pathways Hospice.  I truly enjoyed our time together - working on a puzzle, listening to country music, and looking through his books/photos.  I also enjoyed visiting with his lovely wife, Donna, who told me more about his military service.   My heartfelt condolences to his family on the loss of this servant leader and kind gentleman.

Donna and family - Jan and I would like to extend our sympathy at this most difficult time.
My memories of Reuel are mostly those from our time working together at Kodak. He was a most capable and valuable member of our financial services team. He later transferred to a leading position in manufacturing. Our loss was their gain. Reuel and I were both veterans. His service in Vietnam made him a hero to me as were the other Vietnam veterans I was honored to work with. Fortunately, I was able to continue contact with Reuel after I retired at regular coffees and later during his illness.  May he rest in peace.

I don’t know if you remember working together on elections. I’m so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. It was obvious how much love you had for each other in the few moments you would have in passing between transporting ballots and checking signatures. Just a lovely couple. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Nana, the other day, Uncle Randall asked the granddaughters to come up with a list of “thank you’s” for Grandaddy, which made me realized how much of an impact he had on our lives. Thank you for the funny pronunciation of Tuesday that had Anna and I with tears rolling down our faces from laughing so hard. Thank you for always having the biggest smile and hugs for us when we saw you. Thank you for coming up with the “are we there yet” game because i was annoying you and wanted to be at the cabin already. Thank you for coming to so many soccer games. thank you for going to DC with us and being recognizable in the crowd cuz of your light up shoes. Thank you for the Lamars donuts in the morning when we spent the night. Thank you for making business cards about how your name rhymes with jewel. Thank you for making us a rope swing when anna and i cried about how dad wouldn’t let us get one. Thank you for loving us so much that letting you go hurts this bad. Thank you for having such a large impact in my life, you were the best granddaddy I could ask for. Thank you so much for everything, I love you so much - Marie C

Donna,  I was sorry to learn of the loss that you and your family have experienced. I was always impressed with the love that Reuel had for his family. I thank you for the positive contributions that you and Reuel had on my father's life during the "Polly years". When my mother died, my father said to me "She now flies free". With Reuel's background in the Air Force, that is even more appropriate. "He now flies free".


We are saddened by the news ofReuel’s  passing. He was a very kind and exceptional man. My Sincere sympathy to his wife Donna and the family.  My daughter, Faith, so enjoyed working with him on elections.  He will be missed by many. Much luv and prayers, MaryKay and Faith
