We are broken-hearted to announce the passing of Logan Alan Rutherford on April 11, 2023. Logan was born to Lisa and Scott Rutherford and big sister Emmalee on February 5, 2001. He attended Shepardson Elementary, Boltz Middle School, Fort Collins High School, and Front Range Community College.
Logan was a beautiful and easy baby. He had a belly laugh that was pure joy. He grew into a tall man with a tender heart and a generous smile. Logan adored the family dog. He loved all things sports. He tried his hand at lots of sports as a kid and was a genius at any kind of sports statistics. He was in the thick of fantasy football and tournament brackets. He was chagrined when Emmalee would win March Madness brackets, choosing teams by color of uniforms when he had researched statistics all season. Family brackets with chocolate bars for prizes were a favorite.
Logan was incredibly smart and had a quick and goofy wit that was apparent from the time he could talk. You always wanted him on your team for anything trivia. He helped his mom with any kind of word puzzle or answers to tech questions. He loved movies, with a penchant for Star Wars. He loved history but disliked politics. He loved to play in the water but hated to swim. A favorite moment was snorkeling in Hawaii with sea turtles. He was quiet, kind, and loving.
Left to forever miss Logan are his parents, Scott and Lisa; his adoring sister, Emmalee (Jordan Hernandez); grandmothers: Gloria Schultz and Ann Rutherford; aunts and uncles: Greg, Sue, and Todd Rutherford; Lydia, Sarah, David, Alissa, Dan, and Marie Schultz; Lori and Brad Cromell; Linda and Rod Brown, Keith Laitala, Paul Van Stell, great-uncle David Shenk; girlfriend Emma Baney. He grew up beside his cousins Tait and Baylen Rutherford and leaves behind cousins from afar as well. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Richard Rutherford and LaVern Schultz.
A celebration of life open-house will be held on Saturday, June 10th, 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Gardens at Spring Creek. Any written memories of Logan for the family would be treasured. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support our friends and family have showered on us.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.allnuttftcollins.com for the Rutherford family.
