cancer. He was born on 9/20/1982 in Sidney Nebraska. He was raised and attended schools in
Haxtun Colorado.
He established numerous bands throughout his life, most notably, 13 Nails , who toured and
played with nationally recognized bands. His proudest moment as a musician was performing at
the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in Los Angeles, California. 13 Nails has composed songs that have been
featured in films. He started his career at Recycled Cycles 12 years ago as a builder and
worked his way up to General Manager. He was also proud to contribute to the growth of the
company. He was also very passionate about fundraising and supporting the music and arts
program at EasterSeals in Loveland CO as well as building the local music community. He
loved music of kinds and horror movies and books- he had knowledge of all things horror. He
was also a gifted painter and cherished the time he spent with his daughters, wife and family.
John married Kori (Szczepanski) on 11/13/2015. John is survived by his wife, Kori Lambert of
Ft. Collins; his four daughters, Emory Lesh, Jayden Lambert, and Roxanne Lambert of Sterling
CO, and Elvi Lambert of Ft. Collins; his step-mother Susan Neel of Ft. Collins, CO; his
mother-in-law and father-in-law Kim and Robert Smith of Brighton, CO and father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Todd and Amber Szczepanski of Fargo, ND; two sisters, Tara (Bryson) Fredregill
of Sterling and Julie Lambert of Haxtun; three brothers, Tim Neel Jr. of Sterling, Zach Neel of
Greeley, CO, and William (Anjo)Blagg of Sterling, and step-brother Michael (Jackie) Johnson of
Washington, DC; aunt Christine (Greg) Cox, and cousin, Jennifer (Adam) Unruh of Kansas; one
sister-in-law, Jami (Ryne) Lund of Fargo, ND; three brother-in-laws, Tanner Szczepanski of
Fargo ND, Carson Charles of Denver CO, and Grady Szczepanski of Fargo ND. In addition,
John leaves behind many extended family and friends. He was a soft-spoken man except when
he was on stage performing. He left us all too soon and he will be greatly missed by many.
John was preceded in death by his mother Diane Lambert; his grandmother Doris Wood; his
father Tim Neel, and step-father, Roger Lambert.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 6th in Fort Collins. Due to Covid, number of
