Greg was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on December 14, 1966. His family moved to Colorado when he was in grade school, and he graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins Colorado. He was a three sport athlete throughout his entire high school career (baseball, basketball, and football).Greg worked as a master optician for Achziger Vision Center. This was a profession he loved and an art he perfected. Aside from taking pride in his profession, Greg loved everything sports, especially hockey, football, volleyball, and golf. He cherished the time spent watching his son play hockey and his daughter play volleyball, but the best was for him to enjoy a round of golf with his family. Greg also attempted to learn guitar, this proved to be a sure challenge for him.
He loved spending time outside in prayer and meditation. He was a very generous, loving, faithful, selfless, humorous, and joyful father and husband. He was such a light to anyone he met; his smile could light up any room and he genuinely loved people. He did not share his cancer battle with many people because he did not want it to define him. He was always positive and was an inspiration as he never let his pain or suffering drag him into a place of sorrow, but instead used it to push himself further. He had a strong faith in the Lord that this suffering was for something greater and he graciously carried it. He was a parishioner at Our Lady of Valley Catholic Church, in Windsor.
Greg loved the outdoors, he spent a lot of time in the mountains camping, fishing, hiking and backpacking. He loved any physical exercise and even ran a few half marathons and a full marathon. He was striving to improve his strength through stretching and lifting light weight even on his final days.
Greg was a loving and devoted husband and father who cherished every moment he could spend with his wife and children. Greg also had an overwhelming love for his English bulldogs Ellie and Norman. He always enjoyed a good whiskey or seven and seven and spending time with friends and family laughing, contemplating and enjoying life. His love for life was immense, and he will be terribly missed!
Greg is survived by his wife Kristen, son Cade, daughter Regan, parents Gale and Judy Warner, and brother Brian Warner. He is also survived by cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, brother and sister in-laws, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Steven Warner.

His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 13th at Our Lady of the Valley at 11:00 am. (1250 7th St Windsor, CO 80550)
Greg had a giving spirit, especially for children. It was important to Greg that no child had to go without food, a means to play sports, or participate in a activity. Embracing that same spirit and in lieu of flowers, consider instead making a donation to Poudre R-1 School District in Memorandum of Greg. Your heartfelt contributions will go toward helping a child enroll in a sport, participate in an activity, or to simply enjoy a school lunch. A collection basket will be available the evening of the visitation and the day of the service. Family will collect all monetary honorariums and present to the school in honor of Greg’s memory. If donating with a check, please make payable to: Poudre R-1 School District.
