A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 Friday morning, January 11th at the Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline in Fort Collins. A private internment will follow at a later date at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Buena Vista, Colorado in the shadows of the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Peaks.
Barbara was born at the Mt. Massive Trout Club in Leadville, Colorado on May 21, 1938 to Henry and Hazelle (Trevethan) Thompson. Barbara married Air Force airman Johnny B. Clark in Nevada City, California and together they raised three children: Sheree’, Jeffery and Scott. Barbara was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and the Human Resources Manager for Montgomery Wards in Fort Collins.
Barbara was an active member of Timberline Church of Fort Collins. Some of her hobbies included traveling, Bible Study Fellowship, the “Bad Girls” bible study group, and she was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Most of all, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family. Barbara was a Cub Scout leader, past President of the Protestant Women of the Chapel on George Air Force base, and a Missionettes leader.
Barbara will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her daughter Sheree’ (Darren) Belanger of Fort Collins, sons Jeffery (Gina) Clark of Apple Valley, California; Scott (Sandra) Clark of Sussex, England; brother Marvin (Susan) Thompson of Jefferson, Colorado; Sisters in-law Glenda (Tom) McCall of Fort Collins, Rheba (Bill) Browning of Delbarton, West Virginia, Shirley Clarke of Orlando, Florida; six grandchildren: Marcos (Mindy) Clark, Domonique (Lee) Potter, Steven and Alexander Belanger, Gabrielle and Max Clark; five great grandchildren: Broc and Hailey Potter, Boston, Abigail and Hudson Clark, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Johnny, parents, brother and nephew.
