Ann Louise Johnson Lambourne, age 81, passed away Friday April 8, 2022 in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born in 1940 in San Francisco, California to Clifford and Louise (Merrill) Johnson. She was the oldest of five children. She grew up in Decoto, California and later in Atherton, California. Ann attended Brigham Young University in Utah and then San Jose State University in California where she graduated with a Masters in Education degree and a teaching license. Mrs. Lambourne was a fun and kind kindergarten teacher. Every year she would put on “The Nutcracker” play with her students.
Ann married the love of her life, Kenneth Robert Lambourne, in the Los Angeles California Temple in June 1964. They lived most of their married life in Campbell, California. After they retired, they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. Ann and Ken loved to travel. They especially enjoyed their trips across the United States to visit family and back to Pacific Grove and the Monterey Bay peninsula in California, where they had spent their honeymoon.
Ann was an avid reader and talented homemaker. She loved sewing, quilting, decorating, baking, gardening and canning. She threw fantastic parties, from children’s themed birthday parties to large church gatherings to elegant dinner parties in her home. She loved animals her whole life, from childhood pets (including a baby owl) to her dog Laddie, who was her companion to the end. She had a personal testimony of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sister Lambourne served compassionately in many callings, from primary teacher to Primary president and Relief Society president.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Clifford “Kip” Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Ken, of 57 years, and her 3 sisters, Joan Judd, Jean Daddow, and Linda Bailey. She was a devoted mother to her three children: Elizabeth (and Bryce) Rockwood of Fort Collins, Colorado, Richard (and Elisa) Lambourne of Rocklin, California, and Robert (and Sarah) Lambourne of Winter Gardens, Florida. Ann and Ken are affectionately known as Nana and Opa to their grandchildren: Ted (and Jessi) Rockwood, Tori (and Tysen) Nickle, and Mark (and Nicole) Rockwood; Michael and William Lambourne; and Jack, Callie, Hudson, and Nola Lambourne. And to their great-grandchildren: Barry and Jorah Rockwood.
We will be having a Memorial Service Saturday April 23rd at 2pm. You are welcome to join us in person at the Harmony building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fort Collins, Colorado or via Zoom (link coming soon).
