Anita was born June 30, 1967, in Los Angeles, California to Charlene Cromer. Shortly after, they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where Anita grew up, and attended Loveland High School.
Anita was endlessly devoted to her family and loved fiercely. One of her greatest accomplishments (and challenges) was being a mother to her twins.
Anita is remembered for her keenness and extensive knowledge during her 17-year long career as a Medical Coder with Harmony Surgery Center and was also a coding specialist for Northern Colorado Surgical Associates. Her work was not just a job but a significant part of her life, contributing to the healthcare community with enthusiasm, humor and compassion.
Anita was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2020 and fought with all her heart and might for four long years. During her cancer journey, her hope and resiliency never wavered. She made history by participating in two clinical trials within UCHealth and Sarah Cannon Research Institute in hopes of helping others fighting similar battles.
She was known for her profound love of flowers, cats, and making those around her laugh. Her ability to connect with strangers, friends and family alike was unparalleled. She leaves behind a legacy of bubbliness and warmheartedness.
Anita is survived by her loving family: Charlene Cromer (mother), Jerry Cromer (brother), and her children, Madeline Miller (daughter) and Jacob Miller (son), along with many other special relatives. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Lois Struble (2018) and her partner in love and life of 19 years, Jeffrey Miller (2018), whose memory she cherished deeply.
While Anita’s presence will be greatly missed, her hope was that her memory will always brighten the lives of those who knew her. In her own words, “she loved her family and friends with all her heart and soul.”
A celebration of Anita’s life will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 5th at Allnutt Funeral Service- Drake Chapel. 650 W. Drake Rd. Fort Collins, CO. Per Anita’s request, she would love for all in attendance to dress in their brightest, favorite colors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pathways of Northern Colorado, or Animal Friends Alliance (previously called Fort Collins Cat Rescue) - causes dear to Anita's heart.
