Robert Edward Schneider, passed away peacefully on October 14th 2024 in Frisco Texas. Known as Rob, he was born May 17th 1963 in Chicago Illinois to Elizabeth and Roy Anthony Schneider, but grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi. While attending Tupelo High School, he was a state champion pole vaulter and decorated cross country athlete. In college, Rob joined the Phi Tau Fraternity and went on to achieve a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting from Mississippi State University. After college, Rob moved to Dallas, Texas, earned his CPA and pursued a career as an investigative accountant with the Internal Revenue Service where he worked for nearly 35 years.
Rob was a proud father of two, Patrick and Gwenyth, and did not miss a chance to be in their lives, from coaching soccer, basketball, baseball and even some volleyball to being a field trip chaperone and planning weekend vacations. His family and friends were the most important thing in his life.
In his early years Rob was an avid Notre Dame, Chicago Cubs, and Miami Dolphins fan before adopting the Mississippi State Bulldogs and all of the Dallas sports teams as his own. Later in life, Rob was known for having the largest puzzle he could find on his kitchen table, running the Lifetime Fitness pickleball courts or umpiring Youth Baseball. He participated in bowling and golf leagues and enjoyed sci-fi movies in his maroon recliner. Rob’s warm spirit, kindness, and goofy sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear.
Rob is survived by his son, Patrick, New Braunfels, Texas; daughter, Gwenyth, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his mother, Elizabeth Schneider, Tupelo, Mississippi; sister, Teri Jackson (Clay), Lufkin Texas; brothers Michael (Lu), Collierville, Tennessee; Chris (Sonya) Oxford, Mississippi. Several nieces and nephews and one special great nephew, Crue, and mother of his children, Pam. He was preceded in death by his dad, Tony and his aunt, Sister Patsy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for family and friends Saturday November 2, 2024 at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco Texas. There will also be a visitation in Tupelo, Mississippi on November 16, 2024 where Rob will be laid to rest next to his father.
As a Bulldog through and through, we ask that any donations be made to the Mississippi State NIL collective in his honor. HAIL STATE!
