Mary was born June 8, 1963 to an army family and moved frequently with her parents and four brothers- living in places from Alabama to Germany to Pennsylvania. She earned a journalism degree from Southern Methodist University in Texas, where she met her husband and the love of her life, Charles.
Together, they raised four daughters, spending the longest amount of time living in Rockwall, Texas. Mary strived to make their home a welcoming place for friends and family to gather. The family often spent time swimming and riding horses, in between supporting their children in pursuing their activities and hobbies.
As her children grew up, Mary started a new career as an elementary school teacher. She loved children and worked tirelessly to be a positive influence in the lives of her students. She continued to work as a teacher until she relocated with her husband and youngest daughter to Alpharetta, Georgia in 2012.
Mary was a beloved wife of more than 31 years, and treasured mother. She recently became a grandmother (lovingly called ‘Nana’), which brought her great joy in her final year of life.
