Marcia Camille Hornberger, age 74, of Frisco, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024. She was born on June 7, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to her loving parents, Clara Henrietta (Coffel) and Robert Reed Hutson.
Marcia dedicated her life to her family and her work, and she will be remembered for her deep love of both. Her proudest moments came with the births of her children and grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. A woman of great energy and enthusiasm, Marcia had dreams that shaped her life. She often spoke of her aspiration to become a Radio City Music Hall Rockette, and her passion for dance and fitness remained with her throughout her life. She loved teaching fitness and dance classes, inspiring hundreds of students along the way to live life with vigor and joy.
Her love of adventure took her on many cruises with her husband, Brant, and she also found peace in the quiet moments spent birdwatching. Yet, nothing brought her greater joy than time with her family. Whether celebrating holidays, milestones, or just enjoying each other’s company, Marcia’s love for her family was immeasurable.
Marcia’s warmth, kindness, and infectious personality touched everyone she met. She was known for her friendly nature, her generosity, and her ability to make those around her feel loved and welcomed. She was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and an adoring grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marcia is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Brant Hornberger. In fact, they would have celebrated their 54th anniversary next week on Thanksgiving Day; She is also survived by her daughters, Staci Cook (husband Justin Cook) and Shelli Phillips (husband Jerry Phillips); her grandchildren, Jamison Cook, Julianna Gilliam, Reagan Rogers, Kendall Phillips, Kelsey Phillips, and Kaitlyn Phillips; and her sister Vicki Piotrowski (husband Dean Piotrowski) and many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life visitation for Marcia will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033. A committal service will take place on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, TX 75033. A celebration of life memorial service will follow on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Cook, Jerry Phillips, Hayden Gilliam, and Caleb Rogers.
Marcia’s legacy of love, laughter, and inspiration will live on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
