The Armetta children were first general Sicilian-Americans, and their parents were descendants of Palermo, Italy.
One of the most life shaping experiences happened to Henry when he was 18 years old, after enlisting in the military to serve in World War II. Directly after, he was in a car accident which resulted in him breaking both of his legs. Because of Henry’s spirit of perseverance and positive attitude, this accident served to fuel his passion for health, athleticism, and maximizing the potential of his body. He was a runner, body builder and diver, and worked out at the gym all the way up to his late 80s.
In his early years Henry lived in New York, and spent time in Hollywood, CA with his uncle and namesake Henry Armetta (the 1940’s actor), before moving to Miami, FL. In his later years, he moved back to CA, where he met his wife Susan, and they built their dream log cabin home in Susanville, CA.
