Edward J. Kucic Jr., age 80, of Frisco, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Edward was born February 25, 1942 in Chicago, IL to his loving parents Emma (Troy) and Edward J. Kucic, Sr. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Star (Benke) Kucic, his son Edward (Lauren) J. Kucic, III, granddaughters, Taylor and Paige and loving sister Sharon Crowder.
Affectionately called Eddie by his wife, he had a love for all things planes, trains, and automobiles. He always dreamed of becoming a pilot and was a proud member of the United States Air Force, where he served from 1963 – 1969. Around the holidays you could always find him tinkering with his beloved train set around the Christmas tree, something his son and later his granddaughters enjoyed with him. Eddie also spent a majority of his career in the automobile industry working for Oldsmobile and Cadillac dealerships. One of his favorite events each year was to work at the Chicago Auto Show and share his automotive enthusiasm with the thousands of attendees.
Eddie lived for his family, relocating from Arlington Heights, IL to Frisco, TX in recent years to be closer to them. He found the most joy throughout the years in cheering them on in their sports, celebrating milestones and playing games with them, often letting them win. He taught us to live by one motto – “positive mental attitude”. Even in his final year as he battled cancer, he would stay positive and always look to the bright side, never once complaining.
Eddie will be interred at the Dallas National cemetery and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to celebrate his life.
