Cornelius Erik Logan, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 25th, 2024, at Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, TX. Born on January 15th, 1941, in Los Angeles, CA, Erik lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.
Erik proudly served his country as a Marine from 1960 to 1964, achieving the rank of E3. He was deployed to Vietnam six times before the United States officially acknowledged its presence there. Following his military service, Erik pursued an associate’s degree in business, which paved the way for a successful civilian career. He made significant contributions to the emerging technical field, including earning a patent while working at Xerox Corporation in the 1980s. Erik also held various leadership positions within his church, reflecting his commitment to his community and his faith.
Erik's life was deeply rooted in his love for his family and his desire to help those around him. Known for his gentle nature and kind heart, he touched the lives of many. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Anne Logan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Jo Logan; his sons, Larry, Rik, and Carl, and their families; his step-sons, Donny and Greg West, and their families; and his step-daughters, Candy Benge and Penny Decesare, and her family.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on December 12th, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Stonebriar Funeral Home, located at 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75034. Light refreshments will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Homes for the Troops, a top-rated charity dedicated to building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. This publicly funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization ensures that 90 cents of every dollar goes directly to the building of homes for veterans. Donations can be made at www.hfotusa.org.
Erik will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, a fitting tribute to a man who served his country with honor and distinction.
