Bill Truman Jackson passed from this life on to his eternal home on June 15, 2019 in Denton, Texas. He was born June 6, 1931 to Andrew Jackson and Viola Kennedy of Quitman, Arkansas. He was the fourth child born to Andrew and Viola having two sisters, Rachel and Sylvia, and three brothers, Troy, Mack, and Ted. The family were cotton farmers in the central part of Cleburne County, Arkansas.
His family knew him as Truman but to everyone else he was Bill. He earned his GED while serving in the Air Force. Bill was an Airman First Class serving in the Korean War. He then went on to business school and became an entrepreneur. Over his entrepreneurial career he would own a television repair shop, an estate store, a handbag store, a picture store, and a swimming club.
When not pursuing his business interests he could be found at home. He might be playing his guitar and keyboard, gardening in the yard, or working in the garage. Bill would be listening to old country or gospel music. He also loved to fish. He watched Fox News, drinking his black instant Folgers coffee and eating sweets.
Bill was married to the love of his life Edna Caroline Holt of Amarillo, Texas for 63 years. Together they had two daughters, Valetta Pelata and Teresa Robinson and were blessed with two grandchildren, Emily Caroline Robinson (13) and Kendall Reese Robinson (9). He will be remembered as a loving Papa who spoiled his grandkids and enjoyed playing music.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Holt Jackson; his parents, Andrew and Viola Kennedy; his brothers, Troy, Ted, and Mack Jackson; and his sister Rachel Atterberry.
Bill is survived by his daughter Teresa and husband Cody Robinson of Prosper TX; his daughter Valetta and husband Stacy Pelata of Kemah, TX; His granddaughter Emily Robinson of Prosper, TX; his granddaughter Kendall Robinson of Prosper, TX; his sister Silvia Triplett of Trenton, MI; his niece who was like a sister to him, Melba Atterberry of Oregon; his sister-in-law Stella Holt of Amarillo, TX; and many other nieces and nephews.
Bill was loved while he was with us here on Earth and will continue to be loved through time and eternity. He will be dearly missed by all.
