Anissa obituary Anissa D’Souza born June 8, 1977 in Abu Dhabi died August 13, 2023 in Dallas TX. It was a sunny day in Dallas and the horizon was clear. She attended boarding school in India and learned to be independent from a young age. After finishing high school in Abu Dhabi. She left her family and many friends to move to the US to attend Bowling Green State University. She graduated in 1999 with a BS in Business Administration with a major in Management Information Systems. After graduation she moved to Columbus Ohio to work for Nationwide Insurance where she spent 18 years.
She made many friends in Cbus and developed a deep and passionate love of dogs. Her first dog Zeb was a black Briard but she quickly obtained Andre, a tawny Briard. She loved to compete in dog agility and obtained several championships with Zeb and also competed with her at the Westminster Kennel Club Agility Competition. Zeb was a certified therapy dog so Anissa would always create time to take Zeb where she could help enrich the lives of others. More recently she adopted Light, a Belgian Malinois and enjoyed her morning hikes with him to watch sunrise.
Needing a new challenge, Anissa left Nationwide to move to San Antonio Texas to work for USAA and leave her mark on many new friends. After 5 years she once again felt it was time to move on and moved to the Dallas area in 2021. She built her dream house and quickly enmeshed herself in her new neighborhood, making new friendships with her neighbors. She had only just started working for Discover when tragedy struck and the world was left without Anissa.
Anissa had an infectious laugh and was passionate about life. She was always looking for something new to experience. She was a belly dancer, a seamstress, a backpacker, a cyclist, an equestrian (which included a trail drive in Montana), a dog trainer, a kayaker, a tequila connoisseur, a horticulturist but most of all a great friend, daughter, and sister. Anissa was a strong woman who lived life on her terms and enjoyed every moment.
Predeceased by her “Da” Francis D’Souza, the love of her life Norman Wagner, and her 2 Briards all of whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her mother Ambita D’Souza, brothers Fabian D’Souza (Rhiannon) and Floyd D’Souza (Clare), niece Adele and nephew Ayden, best friend Pam McGarvey and a multitude of friends in Abu Dhabi, India, Ohio and Texas.
