Warren Radford Smith was born on March 29, 1925, to Clarence and Bessie Smith in Raton NM, and passed away in Fresno, California, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He led a fulfilling life supporting his family and using his mechanical talents and inventive mind in his career as a dairy foreman, a milk processing plant operator in addition to being a truck driver. He proudly served in the Marines in the Pacific Arena during WWII. He offered his services to the 55 Plus Club which led to the Kiwanis Club presenting him with the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2006. Some of the pleasures in life include sharing jokes, going camping, working on cars, training and showing his dogs and went to Nationals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jim Smith and Wayne Smith and his wife Ola Smith.
He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Smith and Billie Sommars and her husband Steve; grandchildren, Nathan Sommars and his wife Chelsea, and Connie Fuller and her husband Donnie; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tristan Sommars and Dexter and Brinley Fuller. He is also survived by his sister, Bessie Harris and her husband Melvin, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Warren will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00 am at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706. . In lieu of flowers, Remembrances may be made to Fresno Hospice, 7541 N. Remington Ave Ste. 105, Fresno, CA 93711.
