Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (Lubisich) Gotelli; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Beau Sweeney; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Yanet Gotelli; and grandchildren, Gianna and Anthony Gotelli. Steve is also survived by his sister, Betty Lee, his nieces and nephews; Sabrina, Scott, Brody and Brynlee Eastom and Joshua and Ceciley Lee. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Cuerino and Angie Gotelli, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Katherine Lubisich, and brother-in-law, Steven Lee.
Steve was born on March 19th, 1953 in San Francisco, CA, then adopted by Cuerino and Angie Gotelli. He grew up in the countryside in Madera, where he attended Alpha Elementary School and graduated from Madera High School in 1971. Steve attended Fresno State, where he studied Business Administration and performed tenor saxophone in the jazz band. Steve then started his career at Charles McMurray Company in 1975, where he worked for 43 years. Steve spent the last 20 years as a sales representative in the South Valley, where he built meaningful and long lasting relationships with his clients. On November 13th, 1976, Steve married his loving wife Kathy, at St. Anthony’s Church in Fresno. On September 11th, 1987 they welcomed their son, Steven and on February 12, 1990 their daughter, Melissa.
Steve was a devoted father who loved his children and took pride in coaching their sports teams. Outside of his family, he had a deep passion for music, which started at an early age. He started the “Steve Gotelli Band”, where he played the accordion alongside his sister, Betty, at weddings, ceremonies, and various functions for over 25 years. Steve loved working on projects around the house, and especially loved spending time on the lake with his family. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Gianna and Anthony, whom he loved more than life itself. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Stanford Hospital that cared for Steve during his lengthy fight with cancer. A very special heart felt thank you to Dr. Sally Arai for her loving care throughout the last 2 1/2 years.
