Robert B. Heller was born January 17, 1930 and entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 21, 2013, at the age of 83. Bob went to California State University, Fresno where he played football and met the love of his life, Diane Thuesen. His education was interrupted when he was called to duty in the Korean War where he proudly served as a forward artillery spotter. He returned to Fresno to complete his education and raise his family.
Bob enjoyed a long and successful career in public relations both in Fresno and Sacramento. After retirement, he and Diane traveled extensively throughout Europe. Bob was the proud holder of a private pilot's license. As an avid pilot, Bob and Diane as co-pilot, flew the length and breadth of California on their air borne adventures. He was a member of North Fresno Rotary, a docent at the Fresno Zoo and an Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He was a loyal Fresno State Bulldog fan to the end.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Steve and his wife Anne, Mark and his wife Terri; four grandchildren, Zachary, Logan, Katrina and Nicholas; his sister, Marilyn Rundell and her family; and his good buddies, Frank Jurgens and Lloyd McDonald
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Nazareth House or the National Alzheimer's Association.
