Patricia Lee Brown

Pat was born to Frank and Marjorie Griffith on November 27, 1946 in Canton, Ohio. Her father was in the Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller which resulted in Pat and her brother Roger growing up in numerous places across the United States. They settled in Fresno when she was in the 8th grade. Pat attended Roosevelt High School (Class of 1964) where she met her future husband Greg Brown. They were married in Carmel, CA in 1965.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Roger. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Greg, son Jeff Brown and wife Linda, daughter Joanne Jimenez and her husband Michael, grandchildren Rachel Thomas and husband Matt, Sydney Brown, Kyle and John Jimenez and great granddaughter Lucille Thomas.

Pat was an amazing wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, aunt, friend, neighbor, nurse, mentor and yoga instructor.

Pat returned to school after having two children. She attended Fresno City College and earned her degree and nursing license while raising two small children. She later earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in nursing, all while working full time. Her nursing career spanned 50+ years. Her career encompassed Pediatrics, Rehab and ended in Hospice care. No matter what she did she was always committed to making things better, whether it was an organization or an individual.

Pat loved to travel. Some of her favorite places were Hawaii, the Central California Coast and the mountains.

Butterflies were one of Pat’s favorite things and became her trademark. They will be included in a Celebration of Life ceremony to be held September 12, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust located at 11605 Old Friant Rd, Fresno, CA 93730.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to a scholarship fund in Pat’s name to the Fresno City College Nursing Program.
