Loving mother, grandmother and friend, Olivia M. Ramos was born in the Island District of Kings County California on August 12, 1924. While in the comfort of her loving son Joe's arms, she joined Jesus Christ on September 7, 2012, at age 88.
Born to Portuguese Immigrants, Olivia went to school in Laton California. In 1944, she married her one and only true love, Augusto P. Ramos of Fresno, who immigrated from the Azorean Islands. Together they started a dairy operation and Olivia would help her husband with everyday chores, which included milking cows and raking hay with a team of horses. She was able to do all this while they started their family of four sons and a daughter.
Olivia lost an infant son in 1952 and then her husband in 1967. Olivia's continued devotion to Augusto was evident as she never remarried and turned all of her attention to raising her family as a single mother. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eyes.
Olivia was a devout Catholic, with a love of the Rosary and the Mass. She was especially fond of her time on the Pismo St. Anthony Celebration Committee and was a mainstay in the Crown Rooms of both the Fresno and Pismo Celebrations.
Olivia was a caregiver to both her parents and sister Connie, spending endless hours caring for their special needs. In her spare time, she loved going with her sister Elvira on school bus rides to various academic and athletic events.
Olivia was a strong woman with the soft heart of an Angel. She was a kind loving spirit, who looked for the best in people and loved sunflowers and hummingbirds.
