May 18th, 1921 – January 6th, 2024
Nadine was the daughter of Wilhelm A. Hansen, a Danish immigrant, and Gladys L. Hansen of Salem, Missouri. She was born in a home on Shields Avenue in Kerman, CA. She graduated from Kerman High School and Heald College in Fresno, CA.
Nadine met the love of her life Kenneth J. Smith on January 16th, 1945 at Hammer Field in Fresno, CA. She was taken back by his good looks, his standing as an officer in the Army and was impressed that he too was raised on a farm. They married 6 months later, on July 14th, 1945.
Nadine spent her life keeping records for the family farms and managing College Apartments near California State University, Fresno. She purchased horses and riding lessons for her avid equestrian daughters. Nadine was known to all that knew her as a very kind and generous person.
She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Hansen, sister Rosalie McInturf, husband Kenneth Smith and her only two daughters Karen Simmons & Kathleen Fisher. She is survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Freeman, Julie Weiss, & Christopher Fisher. As well as 7 great grandchildren, Jackson, Madison & Jase Freeman; Rowen, Reagan & Riley Weiss; and Adam Fisher.
A graveside service for Nadine will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:00 am at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N Teilman Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
