She was born in Aurora, Illinois on August 15, 1930 to Adolf and Mary Rohr. Mary Jane was the youngest of four children and had such a love for life. Her family moved to Hays, Kansas during her senior year and she managed to begin new friendships and upon her graduation from high school her parents decided to move west and settled in Fresno California.
Mary Jane had many roles in her lifetime, a career woman, a wife to Ken Riley until his passing in 1986, a mother to her four children which all were very important to her. She received great enjoyment and always said she was ever so blessed. She enjoyed holidays in her home baking her wonderful lemon meringue pies. As her children became young adults she decided to attend college at age 50 and pursue a career in the medical field as a medical transcriber at Children's Hospital in Fresno. She also started taking creative writing classes and continued her enjoyment by writing short stories. She received several Persie awards for her short stories.
Mary Jane found love again with Paul Weaver and they were married August 16, 2002. Mary Jane and Paul enjoyed traveling on cruises to Italy, Greece and the Caribbean islands. Her Catholic faith was very important to her where she found great joy and blessings. She belonged to various ministries over the years and enjoyed the Holy Spirit Seniors gatherings and friendships until the time of her passing.
