Mary Lou Johnson was born on June 22, 1931, in Hamilton, PA, to parents Wall and Laura Stear. She went to Heaven to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2018. When Mary Lou was young, her father was killed when the car he was in was struck by a train. This prompted her mother to bring Mary Lou and her two sisters, Dorothy and Gladys,to live in Fresno, CA. She resided in Fresno for over 70 years. Mary Lou met Marvin Johnson at a church function, and they were married in 1956. She was active in her community; led Bible studies; sang in the church choir; and volunteered at Community Regional Medical Center in the oncology department for approximately 25 years, logging in over 27,000 volunteer hours. Mary Lou was happiest when she was serving and helping others.
She was a devoted wife and mother to her two children, daughter, Karin, and son, Kris. Mary Lou lived in the Fresno home she and Marvin had built for nearly 60 years. She is survived by her daughter, Karin, and is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and son, Kris.
