Lucita was a graduate from Edison High School in 1950. She married in 1951 and had 4 sons (Andrew ll, Mark and a set of twins Thomas and Timothy). Later after raising her children with her husband Andrew, she decided to attend Fresno City College in 1967 majoring in early childhood development. In 1969 she pursued a career in the Head Start program working at the Pine Dale Elementary school in Fresno, California. After several years working with children as a teacher she began to venture into a different type of career working for a major retail company known as Gottschalks. Where she found herself working until retirement age 65, in 1997. Although she enjoyed working for the Gottschalks warehouse in Madera CA as a Distribution Clerk, she was looking forward to retirement. Beginning in 2003, she began a new phase in her life working together with Andrew as bookkeepers for Northstar Photography where they worked side-by-side keeping accounts all in balance. They both enjoyed working together as the team of Poppy and Grandma until 2013. She indeed wore many hats in her lifetime and will truly be missed.
