Fresno, California - Leslie Eugene Reid, Jr. born January 3, 1934, in Canton, MS passed peacefully on September 26, 2022, in Fresno, CA with his family by his side.
Leslie graduated from Canton High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 – 1954. During the Korean War, Les served with an air squadron in Japan.
He began as a realtor in 1971 and later became a broker. He was chosen as "Realtor of the Year" in 1981 and served as Board President of the Fresno Association of Realtors in 1984. Besides his family, his passions in life were his work and golf. Les considered his clients his friends and remained so for years afterward. He was known for his kindness and integrity.
Leslie leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Sandra Cameron Reid; 5 children: Les & Liz Reid of Santa Cruz; Rebecca, Christopher & Jennifer; 2 grandchildren, Madison Johansson & Kane Sjoberg; sister-in-law Susan Andersen & nephew Todd Andersen; 2 sons-in-law, Mikael Sjoberg & Lars Johansson; brother Thomas Reid & wife Cuyler of Phoenix, AZ; sisters Blanche & Patty of Ft.Walton Beach, FL; brother-in-law Robert Cameron of Bend, OR. He joins in death his parents; in-laws, James & Eleanora Phillips; 2 brothers, & 4 sisters. He also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, and many good friends including the Scambrays whom he considered family.
Les's maxim in life was "The true joy of life is what you give and receive from your family and friends."
The family is deeply grateful to the Care Staff of The Grove at San Joaquin Gardens for their wonderful care.
