Laura E. Edmunds

Ms. Edmunds was born October 22, 1919, in South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Johnsie (Smith) Edmunds and W. H. Edmunds. Laura was a WAC for 28 years and then worked for the Internal Revenue Service. She was a member of People's Church, VFW Post #5057, Eastern Star.

She was a dearly loved mother and grandmother and will be missed terribly.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Edmunds; and long time friend, Alberta Wurth.

She is survived by her god-daughter, Kristin Buck (whom she considered a daughter) and Kristin's husband Stephen Buck; three grandchildren; Tiffany Ann, SSG. Stephen Carl, and Emily Anne; one great-granddaughter, Jaylee Ann. Laura was anticipating the birth of a second great granddaughter Taylor Anne who was due on December 28, 2011.

A long time volunteer at the VA hospital she was also very active in the Eastern Star, Rebecca's, Daughters of the Nile, and Star Lighters. Laura had a smile for everyone and never met a stranger.

Visitation will held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel, on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Belmont Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior, USO, or Not So Perfect Angels.
