Kathy was born in Mississippi and the family moved to Colorado a few years later. She graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, and three years later from the University of Northern Colorado where she majored in Special Education. She taught special education for 35 years—first in Colorado and then in the Clovis Unified School District from 1990 until her retirement. She loved and was an advocate for all her students and delighted in helping them progress.
Kathy was a member of the Junior League of Fresno and met many friends there. She chaired several committees and loved giving back to the community.
World travel was her lifetime passion. She explored all over Europe with family, friends and even by herself. Italy and France were her particular favorites.
Kathy leaves behind her husband, mother, brother, three children, and two grandchildren.
Kathy will be remembered for her loving and giving disposition, sharp wit, and quick smile. Her kind heart and generous spirit will always be remembered. Evil found no place in Kathy’s heart.
To those who mourn her going away, we’d say grieve not for her, our loss is Heaven’s gain. Cherish the hope that some sweet day we may meet her in that home above, where all is peace, joy, and happiness.
