Kathryn Elizabeth Schultz passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 27, 2017. She is the daughter of Victor and Elizabeth Rice. Born in Fresno, July 3, 1949, Kathy was raised on a farm in Clovis. She went to Fairmont Elementary School then
Sanger High School
where she graduated in 1967.
Soon after graduation, she worked as a beautician, then at Clovis Unified School District as a bus driver, and finally, realizing a lifelong dream of becoming an RN, and went through Fresno City College's Nursing Program. Upon graduation Kathy worked five years at Valley Children's Hospital, then 17 years at Fresno Care and Guidance before retiring in 2011. Kathy loved her family, the beach, horses, gardening, and her dogs. Her Catholic faith was very important to her as she served as a Eucharistic Minister and loved going to weekly Adoration. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Tom, of 34 years, daughters, Ginger Devins and her husband Michael; Jill Kuil and her husband Greg; granddaughter Kaitlyn Cajas and her husband Joseph; grandsons, Jordan Schwab and Nathan Devins; her sister, Pegi Weaver and her husband Alan; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Sanger Cemetery on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
