four children; Joetta Smith DeSwarte Wallace, Gary Smith, Jeannie Smith Trippel
and Linda Smith Shelby. We are comforted that she is now with her husband,
John B. Smith who preceded her in death 41 years ago and with her Lord Jesus. Jo
was blessed with 7 grandchildren; Jennifer Burtram, Jason DeSwarte, Brandon
Smith, Brittany Smith, Kyle Trippel, Kevin Trippel and Claire Shelby. She also has
9 great-grandchildren; Rhea and Autumn Burtram, Madison, Emily, Gracelyn,
Tanner and Hunter Trippel, Owen and Cali DeSwarte. Jo was preceded in death
by her brother Lester Gowen and her sister Anna Eastwood and is survived by
Dean Holder and Allie McKenzie, Winnie Henry, Maggie Patterson and Dave
Gowen. She dedicated her life to her family and friends and will be deeply missed
by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at Woodward Park Church of Christ on
May 23, 2019 at 11:30 a.m.
