Josephine Ann Figura was born on April 4, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois and left the earth to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 3, 2013. Prior to marrying, Josephine worked as a secretary in several different offices, but after marrying in 1962 she became a homemaker.
She was a devout Catholic who was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Clovis, Ca.and Sacred Heart in Fresno, Ca. She loved attending dances at the Clovis American Legion Hall and was a published writer, having published a book of poetry, "Pen and Progress" in 1973.
A special thank you to Saint Agnes Medical Center and the Nazareth House for taking care of Josephine in her final days.
Josephine's beloved husband Edward Figura passed away in October of 2010.
She is survived by her only son John Figura; Daughter-in-law Cathleen Figura; two beautiful granddaughters who always made her smile - Caitlin and Sophia; sisters Rose, Anne and Carol; brothers George and Joe; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m., at the chapel in the Nazareth House, 2121 First Street, Fresno, Ca.
Remembrances can be made to Disabled American Veterans of Fresno County and the Nazareth House.
