Helen's passion in life was her love for her family. A birthday or holiday would never pass without a card, gift, or letter from Aunt Helen. This was especially true at Christmas time. The entire family has Christmas stockings and ornaments they received from her over a span of more than 40 years. No visit to Aunt Helen was complete without stories about the Lynes family's growing up, or something her nephews did when they were young. This was truly a gift to her great nieces and nephews who learned so much about the family history from her.
Her family will be forever grateful to the nuns and staff of the Nazareth House for the loving and compassionate care given to Helen during the years she lived there, and for their kindness and support in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry S. Miller; her parents; her sister Eileen Lynes; and her brothers James, John, Joseph, and Charles Lynes.
Helen was the beloved aunt of Jim and Julie Lynes, and their children Joe, Megan, and Samantha; Steven and Aimee Lynes, and their children Benjamin, Thomas, and William; and Michael Lynes and Justine Villanueva, and their son Charlie. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Madeline Lynes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Nazareth House on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
Remembrances may be made to the Nazareth House, 2121 N. First St., Fresno, CA 93703.
