It’s with deep sadness to announce the passing of Harold A. Berg, Wednesday March 23, 2022, at the age of 79, while surrounded by his wife and two daughters. He was a loving husband, Dad, and Papa. Born June 2,1942 in Fresno Ca. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Evelyn Berg. Hal was the only child.
He graduated from Fresno High school, in 1960. During his 2nd year Pre-Med at Fresno State University, his father passed, changing his major and graduated while working and running PB Loader Manufacturing with a B.S. and M.A. degree in Business/Engineering. Hal married his wife of 52 years, Shirley L. Berg, Dec 06, 1969. Together they have two daughters, Heidi Berg and Susan Berg-Flores married to Wayne Flores. Hal’s granddaughters, Kadee Gomez (30), Hallie (20), Tayler (18) Breshears, and Bergin Flores (14). Two great-grandchildren Jocelynn (7) and Jonathan (5).
Hal had a full and happy life with his business P.B. Loader Manufacturing and his family. In 1965, he took over his father’s invention of the P.B. Loader and expanded to all 50 states and created numerous new relations and changing road maintenance equipment for 50 + years with over 75 employees. He extended sales to included international coverage throughout Canada, South and Central America, Middle East, Asia, and Europe. He had 50 domestic and 15 foreign dealers. PB Loader, being the designer and manufacture of hydraulic cylinders, distributed 6,000-8,000 pieces of truck equipment nationally and internationally. Awarding P.B. Loader with vendor of the year in 2002. Not limiting himself, he also invented new fire assisting equipment for Cal Fire. In addition to his business career, he was a dedicated volunteer in the community.
He took pride in all his accomplishments and enjoyed his long-lasting friends. Hal had a love for music being in choir from elementary to college. He was a loving husband, Dad, and Papa, being very devoted to his family. Hal always made sure his family was taken care of, never missing his girls’ soccer games or recitals. He held a special place in his heart for animals, especially his love for dogs. He enjoyed countless hours boating and relaxing at his cabin in Bass Lake.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we can not see you, you are always at our side.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3973 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, CA 93726. Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
