George proudly served in the 1389th Engineer Forestry Company during WWII. After his discharge from the army, he worked as a butcher for Mandarin Meat Market, then worked with Mabel’s father on the family vegetable farm. He retired after 40+ years of running his own gardening business. George enjoyed playing cards, fishing, dancing, and entertaining family and friends through his love of singing.
George is survived by his son, Randy Sue; daughter, Marlene Eng and her husband Ed. He enjoyed a loving relationship with his five grandchildren, Jerry, Aaron, and Leslie Sue, Barrett and Rachel Eng, and a great-grandchild, Lailah Sue, all of Fresno, CA. He also leaves Cill Sue and Krysta Rosado who were like daughters to him. George will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and other members of his extended family.
Viewing and traditional Chinese customs will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Thursday, May 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. A celebration of George’s life will be held at The Falls Event Center, 4105 W. Figarden Dr. in Fresno, CA on Sunday, May 22nd at 12:30 p.m. Private burial services will be held.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers remembrances be made to First Chinese Baptist Church, 6080 N. Angus St., Fresno, CA 93710 or to St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church, 4870 E. Belmont Ave., Fresno, CA93727.
