She was born April 8,1943 to Frances & Mildred Myers in Pennsylvania. She was raised in Carrolltown, Pennsylvania with her brothers; Thomas and Ronnie where the family owned Schlitz brewery. She Graduated Carrolltown High in 1961 and shortly after graduation moved with her mother to Corcoran, CA where she met her first husband Maxwell Smith. They were married in 1963 in Reno, NV where she had her first child Maxwell, born December, 1964. The family then moved to Fresno, CA where she had her second child Mischell, in 1969. They later bought their first home in 1971, where she enjoyed cooking, baking, card games with friends, motorcycle trips, races and her involvement in a truck club. While every Saturday was dedicated to family chores, Sundays were spent motorcycle riding in Kettleman Hills.
Dorothy graduated from nursing school as an LVN in 1977 and specialized in Orthopedics at Fresno Orthopedic Group until her retirement in 2005. She remarried in 1985 to current husband Dean and co-ran multiple businesses together. They enjoyed sailing, camping, gambling, and RV trips. They often traveled and went on family cruises, attended horse races and Nascar. She loved coloring, crafting, game shows, puzzles, country music, dancing, and even hand crafted a miniature replica of her hometown that she displayed at Christmas.
She loved and will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and families. She touched the lives of many throughout her lifetime bringing love and joy to all. She was a loving, intelligent, straightforward, and adventurous soul who will be dearly missed, may she rest in peace.
