Donald was born on May 16, 1943, to Donald Jack Page and Flora Trippel in San Francisco, California. Donald grew up in the loving care of his grandparents, William and Ruth Page in Fresno, California. A proud graduate of Fresno Union Academy in 1961, he went on to study Business Administration and Engineering at California State University, Los Angeles.
After graduating with degrees in both Business Administration and Engineering, he began his career as a Communications Specialist at Transco, then transferred to TRW working with defense contracts. Donald volunteered as a deacon at University Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Fresno Westside Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He also enjoyed volunteering with Pathfinders as a counselor.
In 1958, he met the love of his life, Meredith Temple in Fresno, California. After eight years, when he knew that she was the special one, they were married on April 23, 1966. Donald and Meredith went on to have two children, Alicia Meredith Page and Donald Wayne Page, Jr.
