What can I say about my Grandpa? He was larger than life, the definition of it. All of my friends who ever had the pleasure always commented on two things about him: 1)He is SO funny!! and 2) He always smells soooooo goood!
And both were true, he could make anyone laugh and he could come in from working in the yard, covered in sweat and still smell like a million bucks. It was his own concoction, he would get cologne for every birthday and holiday, and mix and match until he got just the right smell:-)
Grandpa- I will miss you. I will miss calling you on New Year's and saying Happy Easter (he would know what I mean). I will miss you saying "howdy do, howdy do?  and Hey Bo-ah!! whenever you walked in. I will miss the way you smell, the way you hug, the stories you tell (especially when they were totally made up!) and the way you sing (I would pay any amount of money to hear you sing Rattle Snake Mountain or Crock-a-gator Rock just one more time).
Most of all I will miss the way you love me. I know that no matter what, Grandpa, I could do no wrong in your eyes. You always made me feel like "super" Shell. I will hold that inside. Always. Thank you for all the unconditional love you gave me. I promise I will never forget. Go grab that boy of yours and hop on those dirt bikes!

Oh Sandy...I am so sorry to hear about Bobby! What a special man he was. Bobby always so kind, always warm and so friendly. I am honored I got a chance to know him. A true family man he was!

I knew Bobby from the field...I met him walking my dog about four years ago. His presence will be missed, that's an understatement....what a sweet man he was...so kind and even though I didn't know him welll..I looked forward to seeing him. He always had some stories to tell.  I loved that. 
Bobby walked down the center of the field. He always did that..He usually walked with his two larger dogs...
On August 4th...I saw Bobby walking in the field but not down the center, around it...which was different for him..I was so excited to see him...He told me he wasn't feeling really good and that he was going to the doctors the next Tuesday. I told him I would pray for him...we talked about alot of things in about ten minutes...I am so happy I got that opportunity to visit with him.He talked about how his wife was such a trooper and  that she took such great care of him.
One thing I do remember about Bobby is his Christmas display..and if you ever saw it...you would know he had a million lights going....I would always tell him he didn't have enough lights up..he needed to go get some more ...how he loved his lights...and his yard..We loved seeing all those lights at Christmas... He was always doing something in his yard and it was beautifully maintained. I will miss Bobby...but know he's in heaven building something...or putting lights on something or singing with his guitar..I didn't know he played the guitar...I know he's at peace and not hurting anymore which is a blessing. My sympathies go out to his wife and family.

Gone from our sight, but never from our memories or our hearts. 
He shall be greatly missed.

Sandy, Taraina, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I was not fortunate enough to have known Bob, but I know how much he was thought of by my daughter, among many others. I remember summer nights in Calwa when we sat on the porch and Bobby and my brother Larry played their guitars, that was back in 1958,on Jensen Avenue. Oh I have such good memories of those days. Bobby was shy until he picked up his guitar. May God bless and keep him until you can all be together again. Joan and Larry Bailey
