Benito was very loving and caring with his family. From a very young age, he worked in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley. Dad was very strict and protective but he had a heart of gold and was always there willing to offer a helping hand.
He appreciated us taking care of him and visiting him at the retirement home - but if it was time to play Bingo, you either joined him or your visit would be put on hold until Bingo time was over.
Special thanks to the staff at Valley Health care Center, where he reluctantly accepted the position of "Home-President". We know deep down he enjoyed being the spokesperson for all the residents. Dad never gave up, he fought a good fight against many illnesses and is now enjoying a well earned rest.
He is preceded in death by his wife Amada; his parents; his sons-in-law, Jorge Duarte, and Jerry Munoz; brother-in-law, Eladio Granados; and nephew, Eladio Granados Jr.
Benito is survived by his children, Benito Delgado Jr., Joe Delgado, Alicia Garcia-Duarte, Linda Munoz, Jose Garcia, Lilia Juarez, and Maria Aguilar; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Lisle's Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed be Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Helen's Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.
