Alfonso was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, compadre, and friend. He was born in Fresno, California and lived on Jensen Avenue his entire life. He graduated from Fowler High School and served in the Reserve National Guard for nine years. On July 30, 1955, he married his sweetheart, Sally, and together they built a home and raised six children. They were married for 69 years. Alfonso supported his family by first working in the industrial linen business and then as a Stationary Engineer at Danish Creamery for 25 years until his retirement. He was known as the “Midnight Steamer” on his CB radio handle and was the fixer of all things broken. Alfonso was a talented golf player and bowler, he was a fan of the San Francisco Giants, and loved traveling on his motorcycle with Sally and the Gold Wing Road Riders across the country exploring the U.S. His greatest accomplishment was his loving commitment to Sally and their family. His memory of love, hard work, adventure, and often surprising dry humor will be greatly missed.
