He was born on October 30, 1937 in Sanger, CA and graduated from Sanger High School in 1955. While growing up in Sanger a lucky few knew him and called him Needles.
Alfonso was blessed to meet his lifelong partner and wife Emily Panduro from Kerman, CA during a dance at the Rainbow Ballroom. Their love of dancing and floating across the dance floor continued their whole life. They were married on August 9, 1965 and were blessed to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year.
He is preceded in death by his son David Navarro, his beloved mother Irene and father Ramon Navarro, his brothers Ray, Jack and Larry Navarro and his sisters Lena Singh and Petra Garcia.
Alfonso is survived by his wife Emily, his daughter Melissa Woodley and her husband Frank, his son Alfonso Bernard, his son Eduardo and his wife Claudia, his three grandchildren Ashley LaGoe, Adrian Navarro and Victor Woodley and his great-grandson Kallon Monaghan, his sisters Aurora Ortega and Lucy Smothers.
One of his few passions was his love of fishing at Minkler and at Pine Flat. He taught his children and grandchildren the lessons of catch and release. Alfonso employed at Gottschalks for 42 years before retiring. He enjoyed listening to his radio on his porch or under his 300 year oak tree.
The Navarro family is thankful and blessed with many prayers from family and friends for Alfonso. A special thank you to Dr. Patrick Ginn of Fresno and Dr. Justin McWilliams of UCLA.
