Katherine L Boone

Katherine L. Boone, age 91, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, at her home.

She was born on December 19, 1922 in Fremont, Indiana, the daughter of Floyd A. and Linnie (Petty) Smith, they preceded her in death.

She was a 1940 graduate of Fremont High School. She worked for Acorn Building Components in Quincy, Michigan, and retired in 1989 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau since 1961. She was born, lived and passed away on the family farm, which was just recently honored as a “”Centennial Farm”.

Survivors include; one son, Larry Wells of Montpelier, Ohio, two daughters, Linnetta Sue (Reed) Phelps and her husband, Charles of Litchfield, Michigan, and Karon Jo (Boone) Fisher (Robert Barr) of Bronson, Michigan, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and also survived by her best friend of many years, Don Gochenaur of Orland, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, two sisters, Thelma Butler and Vesta Mae Sellers.

The revised times for calling hours will from 5 to 8 PM Thursday January 30, 2014 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

The revised time for the funeral service will be at 11 AM Friday January 31, 2014 at Beams Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Siler, of the First Congregational Community Fellowship of Bronson, officiating

Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana
